PRODUCTIVITY BY DESIGN

Repeatable, more efficient performance and output with reduced operator involvement, through automation, PLC control and improved design. Improved productivity is achieved by using two alternate feed cylinders and reducing downtime to a minimum.  With batch capacities ranging from 10 to 60 litres, the hot or cold feed pre-load facility allows one cylinder to be charged with new material whilst the other is being processed.  Rapid changeover of cylinders is automatic and non-productive time is greatly reduced. The revolutionary design and powered head enables fast cleaning and accessory removal/change over and the choice of loading one or two pigs for hot feed processing.  Outputs of up to 600 kgs per hour is achieved at a pressure of 3500 psi.  5000 psi is also an option. The db4 incorporates a graphical operator interface with a database facility for up to 3000 product set-ups and loop-feedback systems to control preform weight stability. High cut rates of up to 1000 per minute allow fast extrusion whilst maintaining preform quality and accuracy, especially important for high precision parts.  In the unlikely event that a problem arises a fault alarm and message indicator quickly alerts the operator.  The db4 is very price competitive and for cold feed processing, allows the customer to use either their own screw extruder or one supplied within the db4 machine.  The rigid construction uses proven technology which ensures durability – a trademark of Barwell.
