Service Department

The service department contains 2 fully trained engineers who in total have over fifty years experience of Barwell machines. The service department is also backed up by our experienced engineering department who design and develop our machines. In addition, our agents are trained to give our customers immediate world wide support.

Service Contract

We offer our customers a service contract for the maintenance and upkeep of their machinery. The reasons why our customers have service contracts are:

  • 28 day warranty after a contract visit (parts excluded unless recently fitted)
  • Priority given to customers with a contract.
  • Less break downs due to regular servicing and assessment.

2 Star Contract benefits:

  • 20% Discount on All standard rate charges
  • 10% Discount on All spares (whether or not supplied during a service contract visit)
  • 20% Discount on non contract visit charges.

3 Star Contract benefits:

  • 22.5% Discount on All standard rate charges
  • 12% Discount on All spares (whether or not supplied during a service contract visit)
  • 22.5% Discount on non contract visit charges.

4 Star Contract benefits:

  • 25% Discount on All standard rate charges
  • 15% Discount on All spares (whether or not supplied during a service contract visit)
  • 25% Discount on non contract visit charges.

Operators Training Program

We have noticed that, for whatever reason, there are a lot of new faces out there operating Barwell Machines. We are prepared to offer in-plant training to your operators. Our technicians know the industry and most importantly the Barwell Machines. We can offer this training to our Service Contract Customers in lieu of what would have been their second visit. If you wish to take this option, please let us know. This valuable training is also offered as a separate program from the Service Contract. This was offered in the past and has been a tremendous success. Our technicians will tailor the training to best service your needs. Customer Surveys

Barwell offer a complete customer survey service, where an experienced engineer checks your preforming process from start to finish.

What we have found:

  1. Machine(s) are being incorrectly used, causing high scrap rate, loss of production and costing you money.
  2. Some older machines prove to no longer be safe.
  3. Replacing certain minor items has prevented major items being damaged and therefore needing to be replaced.
  4. Old electrical wiring has become brittle and the machine needs to be rewired, before a major breakdown.
  5. Recommendations have prevented major and costly breakdowns.
  6. Recommendations have made improvements to the total process. e.g. die designs, blank handling and reduction in compression moulded rejected parts.

The survey includes:

An extensive survey of your machine(s) following a 90 point check list covering:

  1. General condition.
  2. Any safety related issues.
  3. Recommendations.
  4. Die design.
  5. Operator performance and knowledge. If found to be lacking we offer training courses on site or at our facility.
  6. Material preparation.
  7. Preform blank handling.
  8. Observe the current compression moulding process and recommend any improvements.
  9. Advise on other labour saving devices available for increasing productivity, loading or unloading the preformer, cleaning the preformer, cooling and handling the preforms.
  10. A full written report on the survey findings.

The services of our technician is free; all we ask is that the travel and associated costs are reimbursed. The survey would be arranged when a service engineer is next in your area.  If you are interest in this service please contact us.
